Job Title: Marine Engineer 1 Overall Job Purpose Support marine engineering activities for daily Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Offloading Operations, Bunkering Operations, Offloading Hose inspection, Marine Equipment Inspections and Management of Change (MoC) on FPSO assets in Senegal. Assist onshore and offshore teams to meet integrity, reliability, and availability targets while upholding HSSE standards and ensuring compliance with contractual and statutory requirements. Contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment and continuous improvement in culture. 2 Core Responsibilities Operations Support • Assist with marine engineering requirements for daily FPSO operations (ballast system monitoring support, cargo/offloading readiness checks, marine utility systems data gathering). • Support preparation of marine operational procedures, work instructions, and job safety analyses under supervision. • Participate in daily/weekly operations meetings; capture actions and follow up to closure. Planning and Coordination • Help develop short- and medium-term plans for inspections, certifications, and statutory/class surveys (hull, tanks, moorings, load lines, LSA/FFA). • Maintain and update trackers for marine action items, survey windows, and condition-based tasks in the CMMS. • Keep abreast of industry developments related to inspection, maintenance, and integrity of FPSO structures; summarize applicability and potential benefits. Maintenance, Integrity, and CMMS • Support marine equipment maintenance planning and execution: cargo valves, IG systems, ballast pumps, winches, hoses, offloading equipment, LSA/FFA, mooring monitoring systems. • Assist with preparation of job plans, work packs, permits, and parts lists with planners/coordinators; verify close-out documentation quality. • Collect and validate equipment condition data (vibrations, thickness, corrosion, coatings, cathodic protection readings) and support basic analysis. Management of Change (MoC) and Turnarounds • Contribute to the MoCs: problem definition, options review, drafting of recommendations, approvals routing, work pack preparation, implementation support, and documentation close-out. • Coordinate with offshore counterparts to gather inputs, risk assessment (with supervision), and ensure drawings/documents are updated post-change. • Support turnaround/shutdown planning for marine scope (inspection bundling, spares, vendor mobilization). Procedural and Operational Safety • Promote participation in HSSE programs; ensure JSA, toolbox talks, and PTW requirements are met for marine tasks. • Assist in incident/near-miss reporting, learning reviews, and verification of corrective actions. • Support emergency response readiness for marine scenarios (offloading incidents, ballast issues, loss of position drills) and maintain readiness of LSA/FFA registers. Regulatory and Class Compliance • Help maintain compliance with flag, class, and statutory requirements (SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISPS where applicable). • Prepare documentation for class and authority inspections; support survey execution and finding close-out. • Maintain structured records: certificates, survey reports, inspection photos, thickness measurements, coating logs. Vendor and Client Liaison • Support engagement with client representatives on marine matters; prepare meeting notes and action trackers. • Coordinate with OEMs/service providers for inspections, repairs, and calibrations; assist in scope definition and mobilization logistics. Data, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement • Compile weekly/monthly marine engineering reports and KPIs (backlog, compliance, findings status, uptime). • Participate in root cause analyses and reliability reviews; propose improvement ideas with cost/benefit considerations. • Contribute to standardization of templates, checklists, and lessons learned. Development and Learning • Complete a structured development plan including: o HSSE inductions and offshore survival certifications (e.g., BOSIET) as required. o Familiarization with CMMS, MoC system, and document management tools. o Shadowing rotations offshore/onshore with mentors in Marine, Maintenance, and Integrity teams. o Targeted courses (cargo operations, stability/buoyancy basics, coatings/corrosion, class rules). • Maintain a development log and demonstrate progress through periodic assessments. 3 HSEQ Requirements and Code of Conduct: HSEQ: Act in compliance with the corporate HSSEQ Management System Policy, the MODEC Life…
